Outreach

As trained music educators, members of Jarabe Mexicano have also established strong ties to local community organizations including the City Heights Music School, the Road Scholar Senior Education program, and other arts programs throughout San Diego. Since 2016, Jarabe has embarked on various educational tours throughout the U.S. with their "Fiesta En Familia" and "Dia de los Muertos" programs.

In October of 2016, Jarabe Mexicano embarked on an educational outreach tour of Baja California Sur, Mexico as bicultural ambassadors sponsored by the Consulate General of the United States. While there, they performed concerts and gave workshops at schools and community centers in both rural and urban settings. They also represented the U.S. in the 10th Annual International Arts and Culture Festival for Peace in La Paz, BCS, Mexico.

In 2022, the band will be on the road with artists residencies in collaboration with The Strings Music Festival, Blue Sage Center for the Arts, Augsburg University, Quad City Arts, Flickinger Center for Performing Arts, Las Vegas Public Libraries, UC Santa Barbara, Chapman University, Lone Tree Arts Center, Onstage Ogden, Columbia Theater Association for Performing Arts, and many more.
