As trained music educators, members of Jarabe Mexicano have also established strong ties to local community organizations including the City Heights Music School, the Road Scholar Senior Education program, and other arts programs throughout San Diego. In 2016, Jarabe Mexicano completed a month-long summer tour of the Southwest which featured a strong educational outreach component.

Throughout 2017, Jarabe Mexicano will conduct artist residencies at the Guadalupe School of Salt Lake City, the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, and at the Latino Arts String Program (LASP) of Milwaukee. The group's versatility gives it the ability to cater programs specifically to the settings, age-groups, and abilities of student whether through interactive concerts or more in-depth workshops.

In October of 2016, Jarabe Mexicano embarked on an educational outreach tour of Baja California Sur as bicultural ambassadors - a project sponsored by the U.S. Consulate in Mexico. While there, they performed concerts and gave workshops at schools and community centers in both rural and urban settings. They also represented the United States in the 10th Annual International Arts and Culture Festival for Peace in La Paz.
